All students are protected against any act of sexual misconduct and each student has the right to exercise legal processes to address and resolve acts of sexual misconduct at Elmira College. If you (or someone you know) may have experienced a sexual assault or unwanted sexual contact of any kind, tell someone what happened. Help and support are available.
There are two categories of sexual misconduct that dictate which process is appropriate. One area of sexual misconduct will be resolved following the Elmira College Code of Conduct Policy. At the first disclosure by a Complainant to an Elmira College representative and upon the Complainant’s initial meeting with the Title IX Coordinator, the Complainant will be informed, “You have the right to make a report to Department of Safety and Security, local law enforcement, and/or state police or choose not to report; to report the incident to Elmira College; to be protected by the institution from retaliation for reporting an incident; and to receive assistance and resources from your institution.”
A Complainant has several choices for both reporting Prohibited Conduct as well as getting more information about their options for reporting and support from the Title IX Coordinator or an authorized designee. A Complainant may choose to use any of the following reporting options simultaneously.
